Ok, thanks. I am in college and have a bunch of figure drawing and traditional drawings that I have yet to put on my portfolio. Are those more important on a portfolio? |

Ok, thanks again Cecil. I'm in the process of starting to look around for internships. I'm looking for either this coming summer or the next. Lets say I apply for a concept art internship, what would a game company want in my portfolio? |

First you need to be in college or graduated from college less than 6 months. Depends on which department has intern position opens, it varies. If you are applying for concept art, you would need to have good rendering samples and understanding of orthographic turnaround renderings of objects or characters, creatures. Strong demonstration of figure drawings and perspective also a big plus. Thanks, |

Hello Mr. Kim,
I wanted to let you know how much of an inspiration you are to me as I'm on my journey into breaking into this business as a Matte Painter/ Concept Designer. I'm enjoying the process and do hope one day to be able to work with you:) Oh here's my site I've recently put up for feed back- www.wix.com/Josue24/MattePainter
I would love to get advice from you when you have time as I'm constantly drawing and learning to evolve. Be well and continue to draw and inspire others with your passion:) Later |

Hi Josue, Thanks for contacting me, your portfolio has some examples of matte painting process, however they seems to suffer from poor value control. Specially atmosphere perspective. You tend to make them flat by putting same contrast throughout your image. It would be good to practice quick studies with just Black and White and understand how light works in the space. Thank you, |
